Roe deer at Frame Wood, New Forest.
Watercolour 35 x 50 cm £180 unframed
I love roe deer: they are the most elegant of our British species. And I love the New Forest. This was a March visit and the forest still felt in the grip of winter. This roe saw me before I saw it (as so often the case!), and it slipped away calmly and unhurried into the trees, giving just enough time to get some rough sketches done. This watercolour was done later while the memory was fresh.
