One day in the Val d'Aosta, the mountains were shaken by a violent storm. My wife and I were camping and we had a ring-side view of the action from our little tent. I painted this from the tent as the storm started to clear. Two great waterfalls had appeared from nowhere, cascading down the sides of the valley opposite and seemingly pointing to a bright clearing in the dark skies with a glimpse of blue sky. Magic! But not a great day for walking!
